REGARDING THE EVALUATION OF OUTDOOR ADVERTISING APPLICATIONS AND
RELATED MATTERS

The ACDP welcomes the drop in
fees from R25 to R10 for the display of posters per 14-day period.
We also approve of the fines of R10 per leaflet, pamphlet or handbill
that will be imposed on the illegal distribution of these items on our
street corners.
This will take effect on 1 November 2005
Even though the Council will be publishing a copy of the new outdoor
fee structures in all newspapers we still want to make an appeal to the
press to assist the council in reporting the fine structure for
leaflets and pamphlets more widely.
The ACDP wants all residents to be aware of the necessity to impose
such fines and we want to encourage residents to go the legal way.
