ACDP calls for Tshwane Metro to be placed under administration
Despite
the potential far-reaching implications, we call on the Gauteng
Provincial Government to immediately place the Tshwane Metropolitan
Municipality under administration, and that the allegations revealed on
Carte Blanche be fully investigated - see below for transcript.
In
fact, we regard it as embarrassing that the country's capital city
would receive eight successive qualified audits from the Auditor
General without the Premier placing the Municipality under
administration.
The ACDP and other parties have been calling for
years for action in many of the cases mentioned hereunder. Yet, it
would seem as if the Mayor and her high-placed officials are so
arrogant that they believe they are untouchable and unstoppable.
We
propose that a joint task team of the Auditor General, the SAPS and the
Public Protector investigate this matter, and that parties implicated
with criminal activities, be charged in court.
