ACDP applauds the peaceful protest march by Mamelodi hostel residents and says "shame on you" to the Tshwane Metro Municipality

We do not understand why the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality does not see to the basic services request of the Mamelodi hostel residents. How difficult can it be to fix the leaking sewerage pipes at the hostels and how difficult can it be to supply refuse bins and how difficult can it be to remove refuse in the area?

The human dignity of the residents is ignored by not doing anything to improve their situation. What message is the ANC-led Council sending to the residents of the hostels in Mamelodi?

Their implicit message is: "You are not worth it, we are not concerned about you even though you gave us your vote!"  The ANC is failing in its election promise of "a better life for all".  These people are living in worse conditions than in '94.

The ACDP therefore would like to congratulate the residents of the Mamelodi Hostels for their discipline and for the peaceful manner in which their protest march took place on Saturday morning.
